Generate Website Traffic
You have a new website! Congratulations! The first thing you need to do is create a ton of custom content specific to the widest customer base possible…. Wait! That’s not right! That is the first instinct for many people, but the truth is, you don’t have to be a master blogger in order to drive traffic to your site. With the right tips, you can drive traffic to your website with only 2-3 new blog posts a month!
First, know your target customer base. The content you create will target them, and needs to be high quality. Once you know your customer base, decide if what you offer is something customers are actively searching for, or if you need to inform your customers that they need what you are offering. This will help you determine the best paid advertising technique. For instance, if they are actively searching then Google AdWords may be the best way to target potential customers. If customers don’t know they need your product, then you may consider using Facebook to advertise while targeting your demographic. Remember, quality content is much more important than quantity of content.
So, we know that we need to focus on quality content, and knowing our target audience. Once that’s accomplished we can focus on getting that content into the hands of our target audience. We aren’t limited to paid advertising, like we previously discussed. There are a lot of free opportunities out there. Use the drafting technique, find an influencer that has talked about your product in the past and see if they will let you do a guest post! For example, if you are selling children’s books you may want to find an influencer that is involved with teachers, because their following matches your target audience. Another way to get noticed by these influencers is to create a blog post featuring “the best of.” So, find bloggers and influencers that you admire, and have an audience that matches your target demographic. Using our previous example, write an article entitled “The Best Educators to Follow on Instagram” and highlight 5-10 influencers. Then email that article to those individuals in hopes that they will share it with their following!
Finally, keep one thing in mind. You want to take your viewers on a journey. When your audience feels connected to you and your journey, it makes them want to be a part of it. Take advantage of this by giving your audience the ability to sign up for your email list. This gives them the opportunity to follow your journey, and be notified when there is new content available! Tell us in the comments any ideas you may have, and the top influencer you follow on social media!
