Selling Online

Selling online can be a challenge, you have to find a way to reach the widest customer base and compete with constantly changing online algorithms in an attempt to continue to connect to those clients. Don’t fear, there are a few simple strategies that can increase your range and drive new customers to your website.

The first thing to take into consideration is your website. Having something visually appealing is important, but don’t forget about verbiage and placement. Don’t let your desire to stand out prevent you from using words that customers are already searching for. Use common, well known, (easy to spell!) words that your customers will use when searching for your product! This way your website will show up in search engines. Additionally, you want to make sure that any special offers or email sign-ups are located near the top of your page.  If your customers have to scroll to the bottom to find the incentives to sign up for your email, you will not generate new email leads.  Make it easy for your customer to find.

The next thing to do when driving traffic to your website is to find online influencers in your target audience. Using searches, find those influencers on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as bloggers. Consider asking them to review a free sample of your product. Sometimes you may need to find smaller bloggers to review your product, ones that receive fewer offers. Don’t underestimate the power of your local news sites, you may be able to find websites, radio stations, and even news broadcasts that feature local businesses to those in your community.  Finally, reach out to friends and family. Reach out to them personally and ask them to share your business with their networks. That personal connection will go a long way in building future relationships with their networks.
